A Little Bit About Me

Remember when I posted that idea of mine...that I should take those email "getting to know you" surveys and put them on a scrapbook page. Well, I did that today. I used Kiki's I Live For mini-kit for this page. Thanks for looking and I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.

I Live for these Moments

First off...I have some news: I am now a CT member for Ahhh Scrap! I actually have been on the personal CT for 3 of the designers on that site, so I figured I should just go ahead and join the site's team.

Secondly, I have a page to share. One of my son's favorite things to do is feed corn to the deer. He really takes his "job" quite seriously. The whole thing involves more than what meets the eyes. First he has to get corn from his grandfather's, then he has to load up his bucket, beg someone to take him out to the woods, and then if it is kernel corn...he spends a LONG time spreading the corn. Here is RJ hard at work. I used Kiki's mini-kit called: I Live For... It has such fun elements to work with. This is for the Template challenge hosted by Cindy (fellow CT at Ahhh Scrap!). Thanks for looking.

Cammie's Blog Candy and Alzheimer's

Carolyn King is doing something so wonderful to bring recognition to Alzheimer's disease. Her efforts have turned into a huge blog candy worth over $1,000... plus she is sending 100% of the proceeds from her stamp set Whimsical Autumn to the Alzheimer's Association. I am sending this card to the nurses and CNAs that work on "Oak Street" at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing home. I have been in their locked unit a couple of times to do swallow evaluations, and those nurses and CNAs really do a wonderful job with the residents with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.

A Glitter Surprise and Some Digiscrap pages

On Monday, the Technique Lovers Challenge on Splitcoast was to use your background stamp, glue pad, and fine glitter to make a glittery background. I used some paper from Kelly Panacci for Sandy Lion along with some of her blooms. Background stamp is Paisley Print by SU!

I also made some scrapbook pages. The wagon pulling/leaf hunt page is for a challenge at Ahhh Scrap! The challenge is to "tell a story" and for Scraphead's Scrap-in-a-Snap challenge (template). I used Serene by RW's kit- Agate Marbles, recolored the felt frame from Serene by RW's kit- Indian Summer, and used circle stitching from Designs by Natali.

The Parade Candy page is for a challenge at Scraphead...basically telling a story about how someone does something and it reminds you of yourself at that age. I used Serene by RW's kit-Pocketful of Posies for that page. Thanks for looking!

I have been tagged.

I have been tagged by Leilani at Fairydust Princess- Magicmaker blog.

Here are the rules:

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.

2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.

3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.

4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So here it goes:

1. I grew up on a dairy farm and every other weekend all through high school and college I milked cows-which required waking up at 3:15 a.m.

2. I don't watch T.V. but would be lost without a computer.

3. I spent a summer in Denmark and Norway when I was in college.

4. People tell me I am naive and trusting.

5. When I met my husband it was "Love at first sight".

6. I decided on being a speech-language pathologist after my brother had a severe traumatic brain injury...requiring months of intensive therapy. (They did a good job, too...he is now married, a father, and works full-time).

7. I am not finicky about food...I will eat almost anything except liver.

Ok...that is enough about me...so I am going to tag:

Renata- Serene by RW

Monika- Monika's Digital Designs

Vicki- DigiLover's Addiction

Vicki- Stamped Smiles

Scraps of Candy

Donna-SAHM Yapper Scrapper

Jessica- Talk, Paper, Scissors- Stamp

That's it for now...take care.

I have found my mojo!

Today I spent very little time creating (i.e. time on the computer)...but I had in my hot little hands two brand new kits...and was so inspired by them that I made 3 page in a matter of prob. an hours time total. The "Sister" page was made from a freebie (yes...a freebie!) that you can find HERE. It is by Monika Designs and she is in a contest to become the next designer at Stone Accent Studios. So if any of you think that this page is gorgeous...go vote for her HERE (Everyday Heroes by starlight)...but hurry because the poll closes tomorrow (Sept. 11 at 8:44 p.m.)

The Autumn pages were made from Serene by RW's kit-Indian Summer. I had a slight influence on the kit...THE OWL. I love owls and I have been begging her to make me a kit that has an owl...and to shut me up...she finally did. I am such a happy person now! Thanks Renata.

First Day of School Scrapbook Page

Oh, I just love surfing the internet for inspiration...and yesterday I happened to find a fabulous deal while doing it. I was at Shabby Pickle (digital scrapbook store) and I found something they call the Pickle Barrel (Vol 2). It is essentially 16 mini-kits. Each kit is made by a different designer from their store and it was ON SALE for ......$3.49. I couldn't resist...and have made 2 layouts already. Thanks for stopping by.

Picking Sweet Corn- Filters Challenge

At Ahhh Scrap! the challenge for the week is to use filters on the photos. I happened to download a 30 day trial of Adobe Lightroom and so I was able to do this challenge. The filter I used is a high contrast filter. I used Monika Designs'-Summer Breeze kit for this page (background paper is a freebie from her available until Sept. 5...Click Here). Thanks for looking.

Fourth of July Layout

Over at Splitcoaststampers, the week's variety challenge in the scrapbook challenge thread is to create your own lace cardstock using a craft/hobby knife. To make mine, I traced around the negative portion of chipboard. I am having trouble with my keyboard...everytime I push shift+p to make a capital...it launches my Media player...what the heck. Oh...in case you want to know...patterned paper is by Wild Asparagus-Confetti. Thanks for stopping by.

Serene by RW- Silent Pact

Renata (Serene by RW) just finished up this gorgeous kit called Silent Pact and I am loving it...as one of my favorite colors is purple. The first page I made for the Pencil Lines sketch for the week (#100). Stitches are from Natali Designs. The second page uses all elements from the Silent Pact kit, with the exception of the stitching which is from Serene by RW's kit- My Bonnie. Today is my dd's first day of first grade...and I am just hoping all goes well and she loves her new teacher and class. Thanks for looking.
