I have been tagged.

I have been tagged by Leilani at Fairydust Princess- Magicmaker blog.

Here are the rules:

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.

2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.

3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.

4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So here it goes:

1. I grew up on a dairy farm and every other weekend all through high school and college I milked cows-which required waking up at 3:15 a.m.

2. I don't watch T.V. but would be lost without a computer.

3. I spent a summer in Denmark and Norway when I was in college.

4. People tell me I am naive and trusting.

5. When I met my husband it was "Love at first sight".

6. I decided on being a speech-language pathologist after my brother had a severe traumatic brain injury...requiring months of intensive therapy. (They did a good job, too...he is now married, a father, and works full-time).

7. I am not finicky about food...I will eat almost anything except liver.

Ok...that is enough about me...so I am going to tag:

Renata- Serene by RW

Monika- Monika's Digital Designs

Vicki- DigiLover's Addiction

Vicki- Stamped Smiles

Scraps of Candy

Donna-SAHM Yapper Scrapper

Jessica- Talk, Paper, Scissors- Stamp

That's it for now...take care.

I have found my mojo!

Today I spent very little time creating (i.e. time on the computer)...but I had in my hot little hands two brand new kits...and was so inspired by them that I made 3 page in a matter of prob. an hours time total. The "Sister" page was made from a freebie (yes...a freebie!) that you can find HERE. It is by Monika Designs and she is in a contest to become the next designer at Stone Accent Studios. So if any of you think that this page is gorgeous...go vote for her HERE (Everyday Heroes by starlight)...but hurry because the poll closes tomorrow (Sept. 11 at 8:44 p.m.)

The Autumn pages were made from Serene by RW's kit-Indian Summer. I had a slight influence on the kit...THE OWL. I love owls and I have been begging her to make me a kit that has an owl...and to shut me up...she finally did. I am such a happy person now! Thanks Renata.

First Day of School Scrapbook Page

Oh, I just love surfing the internet for inspiration...and yesterday I happened to find a fabulous deal while doing it. I was at Shabby Pickle (digital scrapbook store) and I found something they call the Pickle Barrel (Vol 2). It is essentially 16 mini-kits. Each kit is made by a different designer from their store and it was ON SALE for ......$3.49. I couldn't resist...and have made 2 layouts already. Thanks for stopping by.

Picking Sweet Corn- Filters Challenge

At Ahhh Scrap! the challenge for the week is to use filters on the photos. I happened to download a 30 day trial of Adobe Lightroom and so I was able to do this challenge. The filter I used is a high contrast filter. I used Monika Designs'-Summer Breeze kit for this page (background paper is a freebie from her available until Sept. 5...Click Here). Thanks for looking.

Fourth of July Layout

Over at Splitcoaststampers, the week's variety challenge in the scrapbook challenge thread is to create your own lace cardstock using a craft/hobby knife. To make mine, I traced around the negative portion of chipboard. I am having trouble with my keyboard...everytime I push shift+p to make a capital...it launches my Media player...what the heck. Oh...in case you want to know...patterned paper is by Wild Asparagus-Confetti. Thanks for stopping by.

Serene by RW- Silent Pact

Renata (Serene by RW) just finished up this gorgeous kit called Silent Pact and I am loving it...as one of my favorite colors is purple. The first page I made for the Pencil Lines sketch for the week (#100). Stitches are from Natali Designs. The second page uses all elements from the Silent Pact kit, with the exception of the stitching which is from Serene by RW's kit- My Bonnie. Today is my dd's first day of first grade...and I am just hoping all goes well and she loves her new teacher and class. Thanks for looking.

Monika Designs- My Little Prince

Monika finished a kit called
My Little Prince...and she stayed true to her style...and it works so well for sweet little boy pages. Here are the 2 pages I made using the kit. For the first page I was inspired by a layout created by Lela (CT for Cinnamon Designs) and for the second page I was inspired by a layout created by Miss Lavanilee at Cinnamon Designs. Thanks for looking.

More Digiscrapping

I made this Saturday...just because I downloaded the kit and found the perfect photo to scrap. This kit is from Raspberry Road Designs...and here is a link to her site so you can download the kit too: Annie That pose of my DD's is so typical!

Neutral Challenge, Featured Stamper Challenge...oh, my

I have been on a challenge crusade today, I guess. Over at Ahhh Scrap! the challenge for the week is to use only neutrals on a page. All paper and elements by DigiCrea.

The second challenge project was this card I created using Bloomin' Happiness set and SU! rub-on, with Crate Paper. The challenge was to choose a card from Kokirose's gallery and change at least 2 things on the card. Here is her original card: Beautiful Dream. Thanks for looking.

Strawberry card

My friend sold me some of her "unloved" stamps...and one happened to be this strawberry stamp by Northwoods Rubber Stamps. Patterned paper is from October Afternoon-Detours collection. The main panel is up on dimensionals. Thanks for looking.

Nature Girl

Here is one more digiscrap page I made using Serene by RW's kit-Baby Girl. I used Pencil Lines sketch #25 for the layout (why re-invent the wheel everytime)...that is my theory on using sketches. It sure speeds up the scrapping process for me. Without a sketch in front of me I can sit and putz for hours on where to "put stuff". When I follow a sketch...I just throw the elements on and let go a bit. Thanks for looking.

Kari at 6

Today Renata (Serene by RW) finished up her Baby Girl kit, and sent it to me. Here is what I did with it. This kit is so soft and pretty. I love scallops, so the mats and frames are my favorite! For this layout, I was inspired by a paper layout by Jana Eubank at From My Feathered Nest. "K" is from Digitreats. Thanks for looking.

I have been awarded.

I have been awarded (and this is the third award in the past couple of months...but I just didn't get around to tagging others and all that). My sweet blogging friend Vicki awarded me this.
Now I am not sure how many people I am suppose to award....but I will award
  • Renata for her fabulous digital kits and because she is actually a wonderful friend irl (in real life), and I will award
  • Sally because she leaves me sweet comments on my blog and because she has such a fun personality.

What Were You Thinking?

I made a scrapbook page from paper today...and I have lost my groove I must admit. Working with digital scrapbooking has me spoiled...don't like the color...recolor it...don't like the size of the photos or embellishments, re-size them. Well, I taped this all down and then decided it just wasn't the layout I wanted...but it was too late. So here is my page. Patterned paper- Scenic Route Grafton. This was for the Scrapping Out Loud blog challenge 6.

Journaling: RJ put on a show for me. Seriously, I have no idea what he was doing. It involved a spin or 2, throwing food (last photo on right) and then falling down. He is such a goof ball. June 2008."

Summer Breeze by Monika Designs

Monika just finished making a digital kit called Summer Breeze...and it is such a wonderful kit. Once I downloaded it, I almost instantly made 2 pages. The layouts for these pages I found in the Stampin Up! Idea Book and Catalog. The alphas on the "Kari" page are from Digitreats (K), and the felt (a) is from Melany Violette...the (i) I can't find where I got this from...so if someone knows...clue me in so I can give proper credit. Thanks for looking.

The first page was inspired by a layout by Katie Pertiet. The second one is a page using a photo that Renata gave me. It is her grandmother, Antonia...wearing her national costume. She is pretty. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

A Birthday gift and Quote challenge

Today we went to my parents' house and celebrated my dad's birthday. I thought of this idea in the shower this morning...I could make a digital page and frame it for his gift. I used Monika Designs'-Sun Soaked kit to make the 5x7 page. The photos are of all of his grandchildren and the quote is: "If a hug represented how much we love you, we would hold you in our arms forever". The digipage is for the week's quote challenge on Ahhh Scrap. I used Serene by RW's kit-My Bonnie (yes, again! LOL!). Thanks for looking!
