Today I finished a scrapbook page. This page is for the week's Scrapbook Variety Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Here are the directions that Peggy listed on SCS:
SBVC03 Eyelet Doodling 11.23.07
How about a cool technique this week? It's called eyelet doodling. Here's what you'll need:
2 pieces cardstock, with high contrast
pencil
hole punches in various sizes, 2 is okay - 3 is better
Step 1: Draw a doodle in pencil, lightly (or stamp on the back of your paper with a doodle stamp). It can be as simple or elaborate as you'd like. You can always practice on scraps, then trace your design on your good paper.
Step 2: With the largest hole punch, randomly punch large holes in your design.
Step 3: With the middle sized hole punch, punch holes in your design.
Step 4: With the smallest hole punch, finish putting holes in your design.
Step 5: Erase the remaining pencil lines, LIGHTLY, so as not to tear your paper.
Step 6: Take your coordinating cardstock and place behind your punched design.
TIP: Try not to punch the holes TOO closely, but spaced about evenly apart for the best result.
This was such a fun technique! The color combination was the week's combo on Big Picture Scrapbooking and the sketch is the week's sketch on Pencillines. How fun!

New Picasa software
I somehow deleted a photo editing software that came with my printer...so tonight I downloaded Picasa. WOW...I am happy with it. Here is a photo I found of yours truly.
So this is my life... (not stamping related)
A day in the life of me:
So, today is playgroup day...the day I can count on getting out of the house. RJ has a good time and all goes well. We go to the library, he picks out 5 or so more VHS tapes on top of the 6 he checked out yesterday. Both him and I are having a good day. Then...I get a call from my job (in Arizona), a resident at one of the nursing homes has had a stoke. So, I run out the door once my dh comes home from work and get there at 5:35 pm. Well, I visit with a 95 year-old woman for an hour or so, help her eat, check her ability to safely swallow food, ask her a lot of questions. I have her look at a book with some line drawings...poor lady...she can't even label the picture of the bed...which is the easiest item on the test. Oh, dear...situations like this make me feel so bad. Now I have a lot of work in front of me because I will see her 5 times a week for the next month. I got home right as the kids were falling asleep...both were crying a bit because I wasn't home to tuck them in. So, that's my day and tonight I am going to go to sleep being thankful for the unpredictable, yet stable life I have. Thanks for putting up with my late night ramblings!

Well, I had so much fun doodling on the last scrapbook page, that I did one more. For this page the cardstock and pattened paper are by Die Cuts with a View. Stamps are Autumn Leaves by Rhonna Farrer alphabet, as well as Fiskars alphabet. The flower is an Angel Company stamp and I used KI Memories Color Lab flower rhinestones. Thanks for looking!

Christmas Cards
Today I received a call from my cousin (Hi, Theresa!). She wanted to see some Christmas cards that I would consider making for her and my aunt, Nona. Tonight I got three done, and started one more. Here are the two that I finished tonight and tomorrow I should get a chance to make some more. The eggplant pine cones were inspired by a card by Kelly (Atomicbutterfly) on SCS. She uploaded a card with pomegranate pine cones. Thanks for looking...and go ahead and leave a comment regarding which card you like the best.

All About Coordinating
This is the scrapbook page that I made for Nichole Heady's SCS Scrapbook Designer Diva challenge...which was to stamp your own patterned paper and make embellishment/s to match. I used SU! Snowflakes set with Autumn Leaves Flourishes. I dry brushed white acylic paint on the black cardstock to create a snowy look. Thanks for looking!

Two cards and Two Scrapbook Pages
Well, the other night I stayed up late and made a few cards. The pine tree card is sparkly because I used glittery embossing powder. We put up the Christmas tree today, so now I am ready for a Wisconsin winter! The bunny card was inspired by a card that Hallmark had on their website. I didn't have a small enough pumpkin...so I drew it. Not my favorite card...but I guess they can't all be.
The scrapbook pages I did for the debut of the the Splitcoast Designer Divas Challenge. Nichole Heady and the design team from Papertrey Ink each provided a challenge. Taylor vanBruggen's challenge was to use a previous card sketch challenge on SCS and turn it into a scrapbook page. I used Sketch #3.
The patterned paper and Thickers are both by American Crafts.
The second page was for Lisa Johnson's challenge- No patterned paper. The layout was inspired by a page I saw on 2peasinabucket by Jamie Waters...Mine. Isn't that photo just precious? Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

One more altered CD
Altered CD ornament and a dps
Since I have been on such a crafting roll...I decided to keep it up. Last night I altered a CD for the brand new Scrapbook variety challenge on Splitcoast. Today I went craft shopping because the Crop-a-dile was 30% off at Joann's. That Crop-a-dile is a necessity...as I need to punch holes in CDs now..hehehee. Well, I ventured over to Archivers in Woodbury for the first time. I have tried to hold out for so long..and I caved. A friend suggested that I buy a 3-ring binder album there...since I also NEEDED them. My recent scrapbook pages have no homes... and I am completely fed up with post-bound albums. Maybe it is just me...but I fill them up so fast and then just DREAD taking it all apart to add refill pages. Being as clumsy as I am, it never is an easy task. I am just done! So I bought 2 American Crafts albums...and they are gong to be so easy to refill. I also found some great paper on sale at Michael's and of course some Christmas $1 stamps (too many!). Left Archivers with some rub-ons, chipboard, and Thickers...which I used on that Scooby Doo page. If you haven't tried them..they are chipboard letters with adhesive. So easy to throw on your page. Tonight I needed to try out some of my new stuff, so I used Sally's sketch for the week- SBSC114 on Splitcoast. I used my new Boho paper from Michael's. The stamps are Autumn Leaves Flourishes by Ronnna Farrer. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Wisemen
Just a very quick post today...Kari has early release from school today, so we are getting our flu shot. Fun day!
Here is a card I made using an Angel Company stamp set...I think it is called A Child is Born. Circle of Friendship is the round sentiment and I used the Cuttlebug slider die to make the slider. Thanks for looking!
